Our boys didn't have to travel far this year.....just to the southern part of the state to Morgan Run GC in Rancho Santa Fe. It was a great event complete with banquet guest speaker Chris Riley who played on the Southern Cal's America's Cup Team several years ago. . Hawaii started out with a bang on the first day posting a blistering 66 by one of their players. This put Nor Cal 5 strokes off the lead in fourth place. The second day Oregon took the lead with a team total of 416 with one stroke away at Hawaii at 417, Washington at 418 and Nor Cal at 419. It was any team's tournament at this point. The final round found Washington with a strong finish climbing into a tie with Oregon. San Diego gained position the final round posting a 630 total along with Nor Cal. This was the first time so many teams tied in the top spots. There is no playoff at this event so teams will receive duplicate medals.. We are certainly proud of our four boys. They never gave up and they represented the State of California and the JGANC in fine fashion. |
