State Amateur

The 2008 Girls California State Amateur will be played June 30-July 3

The Annual California Girls' State was played at the beautiful Monterey Peninsula Country Club in Pebble Beach. Flight qualifying took place on Monday, June 25 with matches beginning on Tuesday, June 26. Tis tournament is open to all girls in California making it a true California State Championship. Our Northern California girls have always done well in this competition. And so it was again this year with Nor Cal winning match after match. Fourteen year old Haley Andreas from Pacific Grove went all the way to the finals. What an outstanding tournament it was for her. Althugh she lost the final match to Southern California's Michele Chu, Haley proved herself to be one of our top golfers. We congratulate her and all the Northern Cal girls who did such a fine job representing the JGANC.
