2007 Players of the Year

It has been customary to award the Player of the Year to the boy or girl who had accumulated the most points in a season. This person certainly should have recognition, but the Player of the Year should also be someone who has had a phenomenal year complete with championships and awards. This year the JGANC Board again awards a Player of the Year to our top boy and girl in the JGANC.

Emily will take her talent to U of Colorado

Derek will play for UNLV

Emily Childs from Alameda had a banner year by winning the overall championship at the Castlewood Junior and the California State Fair. She was medalist at the state qualifying for the USGA Junior Amateur and played on our Junior America's Cup Team. Each event she played she was in the top five and has been a long-time JGANC member.

Derek Ernst from Clovis was our JGANC/NCPGA Champion. Derek also won the overall championship at the Len Ross/Fresno City and the Alta Sierra Junior. He qualified for the USGA Junior Amateur and made it to the quarterfinals at the US Amateur. He played on our Junior Americ'a Cup Team. This is the second year Derek has been named Player of the Year.
