About the only positive comment one could make on the Pebble Beach weather on December 26 is that is didn't rain. The wind and bitter cold did show their ugly faces and it caused our outstanding state and premier overall champions to have a very difficult time dealing with the elements. It wasn't uncommon to hear about a 7, 9 or 10 on a hole. All in all, our champions were happy to see the 18th hole and finally gather at the awards banquet to honor their peers (not to mention getting warm).

When final scores were posted there were 4 boys at 79 and a lone girl at 80. At the TOC we do not have playoffs. So all five of our winners take home a watch (gift from Marc Rice Jewelers and Awards in Walnut Creek) and a lovely trophy to remember their day.

There were 235 attending the awards banquet where the JGANC teams were honored, scholarship recipients were announced, the Points Champions and Cameron Tinder award winners were announced along with the Sportsmanship Award and the Players of the Year. All in all, it was a glorious event and a fitting way to congratulate all the players who earned this prestigious invitation to play in the year's biggest event.
